FAQ

Do I need an AI API key?

No. You can sign in with Google and start immediately. If you want to use your own model (Claude, GPT, Gemini, local Ollama), paste the key in the settings tab. Keys stay on your machine.

Does my data leave my computer?

By default, only your text prompts and short tool call summaries are sent to the model provider. Your layer contents, file paths, and credentials stay local. Telemetry is opt-in and can be turned off in the settings tab.

Which QGIS versions are supported?

QGIS 3.28 LTR and later. Both the long-term and latest release are tested.

Does it work offline?

The assistant needs an internet connection to talk to a model provider. Local models via Ollama work fully offline.
